Holiday Mocktail
As the holidays roll around there are plenty of opportunities to make things feel more special. Perhaps a toast at the Thanksgiving table, or as you welcome in the New Year as a family. A Mocktail is a way to create a very special and celebratory moment in a family friendly way that everyone will enjoy!
Schwepps Ginger Ale
Tart Cherry Juice
Fresh Roemary
Fresh Ginger
Lemon
Ice
Start by peeling a knuckle of ginger for each glass. Smash the ginger with the broad side of a knife to release the juices and drop in the glass. Add a slice of lemon, and a sprig of rosemary to the glass. At this time you'll want to muddle the ingredients together using a pestle or the butt end of a wooden spoon.
Pour about two ounces of Tart Cherry juice over your ingredients in each glass.
Fill the glass with ice, and top with ginger ale. Add a straw, and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a wedge of lemon if desired.
Celebrate!
The mocktail has endless variations. Swap the tart cherry for literally any kind of juice, swap the lemon for lime or orange, the rosemary for basil, the ginger ale for club soda or tonic water. If you like it more sweet, pour in a tablespoon or two of a simple syrup (Like the Brownsugar and Rosemary Simple syrup on the blog{insert link to it}). Experiment and make it fun! You'll discover your favorite combinations along the way and have created your own signature mocktail! Get to mixing!
